Madison Violet-If I Could Love You

     Hanya iseng awalnya Saya mencoba mengetahui lagu-lagu yang "dia" dengarkan. Dan iya, lagu pertama yang Saya unduh saat itu adalah If I Could Love You dari para wanita cantik Madison Violet. Para? Iya para. Saya juga baru tahu kalau mereka adalah duo. Yang satu bertugas menulis lirik dan menciptakan nada, yang satu lagi sebagai penyanyi. Duo wanita Kanada, Brenley MacEachern dan Lisa MacIsaac.

     Madison Violet berkonsentrasi pada genre folk. Mereka sudah menjadi duo sejak tahun 1999. Sebelumnya mereka bertemu pada suatu event di tahun 90-an. Sebelumnya mereka berbentuk band yang bernama Madviolet, namun setelah bubar mereka berubah menjadi duo dan meresmikan Madison Violet sebagai namanya. Yang membuat mereka lebih menarik adalah, 3 album pertama mereka yang dirilis secara indie di Kanada. Tapi karena lagu mereka easy-listening, maka pada album ke-empatnya, No Fool For Trying mereka ada di bawah naungan perusahaan rekaman "True North Records".

     Banyak penghargaan yang telah mereka dapatkan tak lantas membuat mereka malu untuk mengakui sesuatu yang mungkin tabu untuk beberapa orang. Apa itu? Mereka mengakui bahwa mereka adalah seorang lesbian kepada publik. Salut banget ini! Karena mereka berani mengambil resiko yang besar. Sungguh beda dengan saya yang selalu mencari zona aman. Kalau sudah keluar dari zona aman, pasti hanya berani sebentar untuk berada di atmosfer bahaya. Namun sepertinya setelah ini saya akan pikir-pikir lagi untuk menjadi lebih "liar" dalam arti yang positif. 

     Nah! Silahkan berkenalan dengan wajah mereka ...
